Apr. 4, 2007 - GOODBYE, BE BLESSED, AND GOOD LUCK!

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR:
OurHeartsWorld.com, the website sponsored by a coalition of community groups across North Carolina, is no more.

When it was launched on Mother’s Day (May 14) of last year, the goal of the website was to defend the right of the accuser in the controversial Duke lacrosse alleged sexual assault case to have her day in court.

The woman, a Black exotic dancer, was hired by the Duke lacrosse team to perform at a wild, off-campus party on the night of March 13, 2006. She alleges that she was beaten, kicked, strangled, raped, sodomized and robbed.

Evidence turned over to the defense attorneys representing three players who were ultimately indicted for three first-degree felonies reportedly failed to confirm her allegations. The case was finally turned over to the NC State Attorney’s General’s Office for a final, pending determination on whether there’s any evidence at all to justify going forward with a prosecution.

In the meantime, the accuser, whether she is telling the truth or not, has been the lightning rod for some of the most vile, vicious, racist, and disgraceful attacks and demagoguery imaginable from many, but NOT all, so-called “Duke Three supporters."

Some of these people, as documented in the past year, have also chosen, using the accuser and her troubled history as cover, to viciously attack the African-American community, accusing us of wanting the three defendants convicted only because they’re white and rich, regardless of what the evidence shows.

For the record, a consensus of the community has voiced no such opinion. Still many Duke Three supporters use the media and Internet blogsites to unceasingly slander and demean African-Americans in connection with the case.

So in an effort to give African-Americans a vehicle to not only reach out and encourage the accuser to tell the truth, but also stand strong against those who hate us, ourheartsworld.com was launched.

The NCNAACP, the Triangle Urban League and three Black newspapers in North Carolina cosponsored the website.

Since May 2006, literally hundreds of email messages from all over the world have poured in to be posted at the site. Every faith, ethnicity and age group has voiced support for the accuser to march into a courtroom and give sworn testimony. It then would be the province of a judge and/or jury to decide what the truth is.

All the website has said is let her tell her story, then let the courts decide after hearing all other admissible evidence.

But, as you know, the case has taken several dramatic turns.

In December 2006 it was revealed that the accuser could not substantiate her rape accusations, so those charges against the three defendants were dropped.

We immediately reflected that change on the website, dropping all administrative reference to an alleged rape, and informing visitors to the site that depending on what happened to the remaining first-degree sexual abuse and kidnapping charges, the website would soon be phasing out.

Of course, the allegations against Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong per his handling of the investigation and exculpatory DNA evidence was also a factor in our growing weariness about the integrity of the case.

And just recently, word that the accuser is not cooperating with the special prosecutors of the State Attorney General’s Office has also concerned us.

If the essence of our support for her was ensuring her right to tell her story, but she isn’t doing it, then the reasons for continuing that support are fewer and fewer.

We have consulted with the co-sponsors of the website, and they agree with our assessment that the time has come to pull the plug.

We are proud of this website and what it represented to our community. It served as a positive outreach vehicle, a place where African-Americans could express their support for a young woman that all of us believed had been dehumanized and violated, thouigh we may have ben lied to.

Still, we offer no apologies for supporting someone that law enforcement assured us had been violated.

But we also offer no apologies for demanding a cease to “trial by media,” and that a fair and just legal process proceed, a process that would once and for all, determine whether a crime was indeed committed or not.

If not, then this whole episode is certainly a tragedy that should never be repeated.

No one should be falsely accused, or prosecuted. If the facts determined that there was no case there, then certainly it this episode was a travesty.

But at the same time, those who demand justice must always comport themselves in a just fashion, or else their advocacy is meaningless. Duke Three supporters have yet to learn that.

Indeed, some will never learn, because they don’t want to.

For the record, the website was also a public service. It never, EVER raised one penny for the accuser because no legal effort was ever mounted to do so for her or her family, to the best of our knowledge.

So thank you for your visit during these last days. Go through the archives and re-read some of the inspiring messages.

Pay particular attention to messages from sister survivors who  reached out to the accuser. Many of them shared their touching stories of struggle with us.

We will never forget them.

We want to thank the many, many people and groups that supported the website and its cause. We want to thank our partners, The NCNAACP, the Triangle Urban League, and The Carolinian, Wilmington Journal and Carolina Times newspapers. We want to especially thank the organizations that help counsel the victims of rape, incest and sexual abuse. Their services are needed more than you know.

So for now we say goodbye to OurHeartsWorld, and GOD bless.

You served your purpose well.

Mar. 26, 2007 - ATTY. J. KIRK OSBORN PASSES

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR:

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the shocking and untimely passing of J. Kirk Osborn, one of the defense attorneys in the Duke alleged assault case.

Attorney Osborn, who represented defendant Reade Seligmann, suffered a massive heart attack on Friday, March 23, and died subsequently on Sunday, March 25. Fellow Duke case defense attorney Joe Cheshire called his friend and colleague, "A true warrior."

Our deepest sympathies go out to attorney Osborn's family during this time of bereavement. His service to the community will always be remembered.

Feb. 16, 2007 - ALLEGED ATTACK 2 NOT COINCIDENCE

The victim of this latest attack is a perfect example of how GOD uses hurting people to help and encourage others who may find themselves in similar situations. I am convinced that because of the courage of our former sister survivor to come forward about her sexual assault this has helped our latest sister survivor to come forward as well. I hope this will be a catalyst for women everywhere to report crimes of sexual assaults .

(D) university should not be only disturbed by this second incident, but it should be proactively seeking solutions to addressing this problem. These incidents of violence against women are only a symptom to much larger problem at this university. What is even more disturbing is how the university responded last year when a male student wrote a demonic email depicting how he would skin another human being -in particular women. This student was just suspended for a few days. What kind of message did this send to the young women on this campus, when there already seems to be a sinister ideology of white male supremacy hovering around this campus. This student was not ordered to mandatory therapy nor was he ordered community service in areas that involve women's issues. How does this university plan to resolve this problem if they are only reacting to the symptoms ?

One would think that a university with such a reputation of academic "know how"-would- "know how" to aggressively address the issue of violence against women on its campus. This university will lose its universal appeal if it doesn't proactively address this issue. I'm sure there are other unreported sexual assaults that have occurred on this campus.

Feb. 13, 2007 - OUR PRAYERS TO ANOTHER SISTER SURVIVOR

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR:

When this very special website was launched on Mother's Day, May 14, 2006, a full nine months ago, it was not only designed to defend the alleged victim in the Duke lacrosse case from the shrill, evil and unquestionably racist attacks from those who claim to seek justice - the best that money can buy without a trial, we might add - but also to acknowledge other "Sister Survivors" who might be in need of long delayed counseling and attention.

We're extremely proud to say that that dual purpose has been served, with several women - many of whom identified themselves as being of varied racial backgrounds - who alleged that they were sexually assaulted in the past - in some cases many years ago - and contacted us. They were immediately referred to one of the two anti-sexual abuse agencies that allowed us to link to their webpages and publish their web addresses and tollfree phone numbers.

This website, to the distinct chagrine of our eternally ignorant critics, has always been about public service because it is the product of true community outreach and caring, not just for one alleged victim of sexual abuse, but for them all.

That's why we are saddened to hear of yet another incident of an alleged sexual assault involving Duke University. This time, according to press reports, a young Duke student, reportedly attacked in the bathroom at 3 a.m. last Sunday morning during a drunken, rowdy party in an off-campus house near Duke's campus, where an estimated 50 people were in attendance, and police found illegal drugs and weapons.

University officials and Durham police investigators are working with the alleged victim to identify and capture her alleged assailant, described as a black male wearing a do-rag, gray sweatshirt and jeans.

We hope that the authorities are working carefully and meticulously in putting their case together and capturing the person they believe to be responsible. And, as in the lacrosse case, we expect the criminal justice system - NOT the media, NOT greedy defense attorneys, and certainly NOT evil racist acid-tongued--sewer-dwellers-with-snakecrap-for-brains Duke Three bloggers who wouldn't know justice if it came out of their faucets everyday - to sort this all out, and make a fair and evidence-based decision.

In the meantime, our heartfelt sorrow goes out to the alleged victim of this latest outrage, and we hope that those around her give her the love and support she will certainly need for the days, weeks and months to come.

We find it fascinating that our critics wonder out loud what color this newest "Sister Survivor" is. They, apparently, have lost so much of their souls and decency, they can now only think in terms of race, hatred and politics. They could care less about the well-being of this young woman, and what she must be going through.

NO FEMALE, ANYWHERE OF ANY COLOR, AGE, FAITH OR BACKGROUND, SHOULD BE SUBJECTED TO RAPE AND/OR SEXUAL ASSAULT.

That's where we stand, and that simply will not change!

Feb. 13, 2007 - GOD'S WORD REIGNS

I am glad that the administrators of this website have addressed the lies surrounding this website. Personally, I don't read the blogs because the ignorance on them is too great. (anger, hatred, bigotry and just pure evil). I've chosen to follow things that are godly- righteous, equal justice for all citizens under the law regardless of race, economic status or gender. All the things this website exemplifies.

It doesn't surprise me that this website is being attacked. Hasn't this been the (MO-motive -of-operation) of this whole case? First the victim and her family were viciously attacked and the second dancer was viciously scrutinized . Then came the prosecutor's turn - I guess one of their goals was semi-productive-they got the prosecutor to relinquish the case. Now it is this web site's turn to be punished for standing for truth, righteousness and equal justice under the law. I'm sure If I lived in Durham County, I would be attacked as well because I also stand for truth and equal justice under the law !

I am relieved to know that GOD has turned some of these vile and wicked people to this web site . I'm sure they will find messages of hope, righteousness and see GOD's WORD come alive. There is hope for you !

I will continue to believe and stand on GOD'S WORD :

Proverbs 13:9 (" the lamp of the wicked shall be put out")

Romans 12:19 & Hebrews 10:30, ("vengeance belong unto me I will recompense" )

Proverbs 11:28 ( "He that trust in his riches shall fall , but the righteous shall flourish as a branch" )

Psalms 103:6 ( "The LORD will execute righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed")

I'm EXCITED -- GOD"S WORD -reigns over this universe and it will and already has come to life !

Feb. 4, 2007 - ADMINISTRATOR - NEVER RAISED FUNDING HERE FOR AV

Greetings to those who do not harbor hatred in their hearts, want the truth revealed whatever it is, and stand strong against those who would attack us just because they feel they can.

By now you know that, per agreement between the Duke Three defense team, Special Prosecutors James Coman and Mary Winstead, and Judge Smith, the next pre-trial hearing has been postponed from Monday Feb. 5, to Monday May 7. The delay is due, in part, because the State Attorney General's Office is still reviewing discovery evidence in the case, in addition to interviewing witnesses.

While there are no guarrantees about the future of this case, we hope that the new date is concrete evidence that the special prosecutors are indeed being meticulous in their review.

As we've said so many times before, whereever the truth leads, as certified by our court system, NOT the media, and absolutely, NOT the racist blogs

There is another, more disturbing matter that hits closer to home that we feel we must address - the purpose of this website.

As you know, the Internet is alive and well with numerous blogsites dedicated solely to the Duke lacrosse alleged sexual assault and kidnapping case. One could reasonablly say that ourheartsworld.com would fit that bill, though clearly, that's where any and all comparisons would absolutely end.

Virtually every other site devoted to the subject is authored and administered by journalist-or-detective-wannabes who believe their rank speculation, blatant racist lies and blanket condemnation of anyone who is not a Duke Three supporter qualifies them to be the ultimate authority of what's right and wrong in this case, if not in life.

Here's hoping none of these egomaniacs ever run for public office where they respectively live.Neo-Nazism simply just doesn't merit a place on the ballot.

But  then there are the hate-filled mice these Pied Pipers of bias and ignorance attract out of the woodwork and onto their message boards, infesting the truth with their unique brand of vicious falsehoods about the accuser, her family, her supporters -Black and white, the African-American community, and this website.

For the most part, ignoring the ignorant is always good advice, because what these unfortunate people crave is attention for their morally malnourished behavior.

But there are times when it is not only worthy, but necessary to publicly counter out-and-out coldblooded lies about our honest, community-based efforts to support the rights of the Duke case accuser.

.We do so now, and quite frankly, it's too easy to do, but we want to be on the record so that anyone researching the lie will easily find the truth here.

It has been, and continues to be erroneously and viciously alleged by some Duke Three supporters who vehemently opposed even the existence of OurHeartsWorld.com, that this website has raised money for the Duke case accuser, and has sold advertising on this website since it was first launched on Mother's Day 2006.

For the record, those false allegations, and any others even so much as suggesting that this website, or any of its community sponsors, engaged in any fundraising efforts on behalf of the accuser, is a damnable lie. From the very beginning, this website was deliberately set up absent of any fundraising mechanism, simply because that would require another level of administrative oversight that all of the sponsoring organizations per the Coalition of the Concerned would, in part, be responsible for. So it never happened. This website has never raised funds for the accuser, either through direct solicitation or advertising, and more important, it has
NEVER received any either, primarily because since  nothing was ever asked for, there was simply no place to send anything,

In the nine months that this website has been up, we challenge anyone and everyone who has visited here to tell us if and when they've ever seen said alleged  fundraising effort for the the AV. We invite our critics to even Google our site, or go through our extensive archives of posts for your evidence. You may find the public service notice and link we posted about North Carolina Central University's Rape Survivor's Fund, an effort that was setup long before our website, of which we certainly have nothing to do with. Officials there can confirm that. And you may find another posting pertaining to the fundraising effort of a local anti-sexual abuse agency that we link to that, again, we have nothing to do with.

Beyond those public service announcements, nothing, and the reason is clear. We never,
EVER, wanted to have anything to do with fundraising because we were never setup to handle it!

And yet, that simple fact, and an overwhelming absence of even a flyspeck of evidence to the contrary, hasn't stopped those who generously and abidingly hate what we stand for and whose rights we stand by, with lying to the point of the absurd.

It is their duty to cast those they disagree with in a light that is not only unfavorable, but evil and despicable. They've already attempted to deprive the accuser of her humanity with their racism. Destroying her, no matter what her faults and worthiness of redemption, is not enough. Those who stand by her right to be heard must also be ground to dust. They don't realize that that when the smoke clears from this very sad escapade, their injustice, their inhumanity, their attempts to obliterate those who rightfully believe differently and want the whole truth, whatever it is, to come out, will be revealed in their totality and collective distain.

So, in closing, we confidently want to assure all of our supporters that this website has never engaged in any of the outrageous and false activities that have been alleged by the very people who castigated even the accuser's newborn baby back in January, which, in our opinion, clearly showed the low, low lengths these moral cretins would go just to attack and destroy. We are proud that this  website has been an oasis for those seeking a positive, supportive place for the  accuser's right to tell her story in a court of law, so that a judge or jury casn decide what ultimately the truth is.

We will continue,
WITHOUT APOLOGY for those who have asked, to continue our mission. That means we can expect more lies and falsehoods to rear their ugly heads about our efforts and the people associated with this website. We suggest, for their credibility's sake, that they first put forward  real evidence of their charges, that is if any exists. We certainly don't put it past these moral mongrels to actually try and make some up. That's how disgraceful and dishonest they have proven to be in the name of hate.

We feel extraordonarily sorry for these morally bankrupt people, and ask you to pray for them. Disagree with us, yes, that's your right. But knowingly and openly lying about us - you should know better, and in fact, do.

We also ask, if anyone has questions about this website or its activities, that you email us by clicking the link to the right of the page.

All questions that can be answered, will be answered.

Thank you!

Jan. 25, 2007 - READY FOR TRUTH TO BE REVEALED

I am relieved to hear that the NC NAACP and other concerned citizens of Durham County are monitoring this case.

These boys' defense lawyers remind me of whining and pouting five-year-olds who throw temper tantrums when they don't get their way. it is very apparent that they are trying to stall or cause this case to dissolve.

Sorry boys, it will not happen!

Don't these lawyers know that they are making their clients look more guilty by trying to obstruct justice. If they are truly innocent, why aren't they marching to the courthouse anxiously ready to reveal the truth? Why are they trying so hard to dissolve this case?

It could mean only one thing - the prosecutor has something very damning against them.

Their pouting has already caused two prosecutors to be assigned to the case (two heads are usually better than one). If these lawyers keep whining they will cause this case to be dragged out and cause these boys to look even more guilty.

The public is ready for the truth to be revealed!

Jan. 24, 2007 - TO JERRY AND HIS FAMILY

ADMINISTRATOR - In May 2006 when this website was born, despite the many, many people and organizations who contributed towards making it a reality, one dynamic, talented man, our webmaster Jerry McClough of Black Cache in Greensboro, NC, put everything he had into making this the great site devoted to good that it is.

Anyone who knows Jerry, and has worked closely with him, knows he's a good man of GOD who loves his community, and is committed towards making it a better place for all to live.

So It pains us deeply to hear that one of the youngest members of his family, Jerry's granddaughter Jayden Br'eyon, has lost her life.

We offer our heartfelt condolenses to Jerry and his family. Know that we love you, and that GOD loves you. He will stand right  by you during this extremely difficult time.

Here now is Jerry's response to all of the love and best wishes that have been offered to his family:

"The McClough and Smith family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the many deeds of kindness shown during the time of sorrow. May God be with you always."

Jan. 24, 2007 - NC ATTORNEY GENERAL/NC NAACP STATEMENTS ON CASE

ADMINSTRATOR - On Friday, January 12, 2007, Durham District Attorney Michael B. Nifong, facing serious ethics violation charges from the NC State Bar, sent a letter to NC State Attorney General Roy Cooper recusing himself and his office from the Duke lacrosse alleged sexual assault and kidnapping case.
On Saturday, January 13, AG Cooper formally accepted Nifong's recusal, and authority to prosecute the case.

"Today I've directed our prosecutors in the Attorney General's Office to accept the request of the Durham district attorney to take over the three Durham cases. What this means is that our office will now serve as the prosecutor for the state of North Carolina in these three cases." AG Cooper told reporters.
"This work will be handled by our special prosecutions section here in the Attorney General's Office. This section is available to all district attorneys in the state when there's a conflict or when there are other issues that prevent district attorneys from handling a case. Next week we'll transfer all of the files and documents in this case from the Durham District Attorney's Office to our office."
"Our prosecutors, as we always do, will conduct a fair, impartial and thorough review of these matters. Agreeing to accept the prosecution of these cases doesn't guarantee a trial, nor does it suggest a dismissal. It simply promises a fresh and thorough review of the facts and a decision on the best way to handle these cases."
"During the review it's possible that we would need to request additional information to conduct further investigation or recheck information that's already been included in the court file. I anticipate that our prosecutors will seek to meet with witnesses, with investigators and with defense attorneys."
"Now I wish I could tell you that this case would be resolved quickly, but it's my understanding that there are numerous documents and other information in the district attorney's files and in the court record."
"Since we have not been involved in the investigation or the prosecution of these cases, all of the information will be new to our office. Any case with such serious criminal charges requires a careful and deliberate review."
"Now, our goal is to seek justice and truth while respecting the rights of everyone involved. We accept these cases with our eyes wide open to the evidence but with blinders on to all other distractions. In the final analysis the path that these cases travel will be lighted by the law and the evidence alone.
"

The following is reaction from the NC NAACP to AG Cooper's remarks.
____________________________________________________________
18 January 2007

PRESS STATEMENT
By Dr. William J. Barber, II
President, North Carolina State Conference of Branches of the NAACP

Today, the State Conference of Branches of the NAACP is pleased to stand with representatives of the Durham Community to express our continuing concern regarding the prosecution of the defendants in the so-called Durham-LaCrosse case. On previous occasions, we have spoken out about the need for a thorough, fair and open investigation of the claims made by the accuser in this case and a rigorous prosecution if facts support that decision.

We applaud the decision of the North Carolina Attorney General's Office to assume jurisdiction of this case. We sincerely believe that the high level of public scrutiny and controversy involved in this matter is unwarranted and threatens to pervert the truth finding process. Now that this case has been placed in the hands of the North Carolina Attorney General's Office, we reiterate the same concerns which we have always raised regarding this case and call publicly upon the assigned Special Prosecutors to faithfully and competently discharge the duties and obligations of their office. We do not expect, nor should North Carolina citizens condone, a resolution of this case based on biased and political or public pressure from anyone.  What we must do is insist that we follow the facts wherever they lead and face the facts when they are all in.  Three times last year the NAACP articulated ten principles to guide us in achieving justice below our concerns are reiterated in capsule form.

Our concerns are succinctly stated:

1. We call for a thorough and fair examination of the evidence which has been gathered to this point and any other evidence which might become available in order that the Special Prosecutors can determine the appropriate legal strategies to address the complaints made by the accuser in this case.

2. We call upon the Presiding Judge and the State Bar to use their positions and authority to minimize the presentation or publication of evidence by any of the parties to the news media which has a tendency or the purpose of influencing Durham citizens who might be called to serve as jurors in this case.

3.  We also call upon the parties and their attorneys to refrain from efforts to influence Durham citizens regarding the evidence which might be introduced at a trial or that seeks to undermine the character and/or reputation of any party in this matter.

The North Carolina NAACP remains committed to monitoring this legal process to insure that this matter is handled and disposed of in a fair and legally sanctioned manner which does not confer special favors, privileges or treatments for any of the parties. We are mindful of the long history of sexual violence against women and the impact that this case can have on chilling the rights of women, particularly African-Americans, to file criminal complaints of sexual violence and exploitation.  We as an organization have been there when African American men were falsely accused of sexual violence and when sexual violence against African American and white women have been dismissed.  Therefore, we know that what is most important is that we find out what the truth is and face it once all the facts are in.  Our position as a Civil Rights organization with an interest and mission to promote equal protection and access to the law and community justice is that the investigation of allegations of criminal conduct be conducted in a fair, meticulous, comprehensive, aggressive and thorough manner. We expect no less in this case in spite of the exceedingly high level of controversy and notoriety which have attached to this case.

Jan. 24, 2007 - REFLECTIONS

How often do we reflect on the words we use to describe ourselves?  For the average day-to-day citizen, we often think before we speak.  Sometimes we get caught up in the motions and don’t think at all.

The Duke Lacrosse sexual assault case has spurred many emotional reactions from all over the country.  The interests of writers, journalists, reporters and bloggers have received numerous feedback of their coverage.  The feedback range from people who agree with the press coverage to words of angry citizens.  But, how far do people go when their emotions get the best of them?

The alleged victim in the Duke Lacrosse case recently had a baby.  People have posted racist and lewd comments on different websites about her and the newborn child.  A child born in this world should never be held accountable for what the mother does.  Speaking of guilt or innocence, any newborn baby is the most innocent breed there is.  Words like welfare kid, another bad product of the black race, crack baby, nigger baby, black b---ch or whore has another one and wishing bad luck and harm to the mother and child is downright pathetic.

Words are a reflection of the soul.  If we speak vile and hatred, then we are prone to live vile and with hatred.  The point is, no one has yet to hear the allege victim in the lacrosse case speak the words that have been aimed at her towards the defendants.  This is simply a tactic to degrade her and crush her spirit to the point where she can’t defend herself.

Is this how the words of ignorance were raised and taught?  Are these words of intelligent people who are highly-educated and financially secured?  Are these the words of people capable of assault themselves? What reflects such a person who speaks brutal thoughts?

It’s sad that the reflections of such word usage are a poor and weak example of many who support the so-called innocent.  If these people were in the shoes of the allege victim, I bet plenty of skeletons would be falling out of their closets.  That makes them no better of a person then the one they are trying to ridicule.  The defendants in this case have been subject to have made racial and disturbing comments of their own.  Much of the support they have, I’m sure by now they can do without.

Jan. 24, 2007 - COUNTERING CONSPIRACY TO DISRUPT JUSTICE IN DURHAM

How dare the NC Bar Association join the lynching mobs in Durham who have verbally lynched and sought to politically assassinate DA Mike Nifong for seeking to prosecute three white Duke students accused of raping a black NCCU student. And, if we are to refer to the lady as a “stripper”, allow me to refer to the men as perverted “stripper patrons”.

The conspiracy to disrupt justice in this Durham case should be obvious.  It is unprecedented that the alleged criminals and/or their defense team will be given the luxury of such a high-media platform to repetitiously proclaim their “innocence” and attack their prosecutor.

I estimate over 50% of the black men packed inside the Durham County jail also profess to be “innocent”.  The difference is, the media will never allow their cases to be tried in the court of public opinion.  Neither will you see any form of outrage when the DA says “they did it”.  Consequently we find more black men inside NC Central Prison, than NC Central University.

I stand to challenge the racist media and NC Bar Association who wrongfully used their influence to attack the integrity of a prosecutor at the rare time he prosecutes a case which profoundly has the potential to challenge racism, classism, and sexism simultaneously.  Yes, we should demand justice in the courts.  We should also remember Malcolm X’s point which says “black people can’t get justice in the courts , we have to demand justice in the streets .”

Sincerely,
Rev. Curtis E. Gatewood

Jan. 24, 2007 - GOD HAS A PLAN!

Sister Survivor,

Don't be afraid to sue these three boys and the university. These boys brought this on themselves. Their defense attorneys have crucified you publicly. I hope some of the vile and wicked emails that were received by this website and some of the statements that were made by their defense attorneys can be used against them in court. As the Bible says , the wicked will fall by their own wickedness and they will fall !

Don't think for a minute that all the pain and suffering you have endured is in-vain, because it isn't. God is preparing you for something great. He wants to use you to help other hurting victims of sexual assaults. These boys just don't know they have set you up for a tremendous blessing and to be a blessing to others. Halleujah!

Jan. 24, 2007 - CONTINUE TO CONFESS YOUR FAITH

Sister Survivor,

You're a true warrior and it is apparent that demonic forces are surrounding this case and those of us of Great Faith must confess our faith and believe in Jesus name that the truth will be reveal by GOD and GOD will execute judgment for the oppressed -as He says in His WORD.

We know it doesn't matter how things look, because with one touch of GOD's favor things can turn around. So in order to activate our faith we must believe in GOD and His WORD and speak to our mountain.

In your situation I have continuously confessed-spoken out loud that the truth will be reveal and justice will be executed for you. I hope everyone who reads this will do the same, because demonic forces are trying to hinder GOD's plan and we must defeat these spiritually evil forces with our faith. As the Bible says our battle is not carnal but with spiritually wicked forces  in high places. With prayer and faith we can move mountains.

I believe GOD has given this case new life. I admire the people of Durham county for wanting justice to prevail by electing what they thought was a honest and just prosecutor.

Congratulations!!! on the birth of your GODly daughter. Who can judge you when no one has walked in your shoes nor do we know where our lives are headed. You can and will overcome your difficult circumstances and live a prosperous life.

Happy New Year to all! Hopefully, this year will bring resolution to all of the pain and hurt surrounding this case.

In the midst of all of the controversy and turmoil that seems to build every week, comes news that Our Sister Survivor gave birth to a little girl on January 3, 2007.

While there are those who have, out of human decency, made it clear that this child is innocent and doesn't deserve even a hint of condemnation, we have also seen evidence of those to whom that makes no difference. They hate the accuser with all of their crippled hearts, and are more than willing to target an innocent child with their hatred and vile.

The extreme hatred must be seen to be believed. We apologize for any offense taken by reprinting some of it here, but there is no other way to document this evil.

Here is a sample of some of what has been said on a particular message board by these "morally superior" haters:

lizza8631- "The fact is this baby does not have a chance. This little girl along with her goverment check should be handed over to social services!"
EwolSmith - "...next year this time, she'll give birth again. That's what the ghetto breeds--lots of children and lots of irresponsibility."
Zork33  - "Dat jus my Baby Daddy!..Dat jus my baby Daddy!...Dat jus my Baby Daddy!! Remember that Tune?"

The administrator at this TV station's message board at least had the decency to take some of this stuff down, only to get, "(whateveraleigh) We are not scared....once again....moderator see's the truth and can't take it.  YOu saw what everyone said.  It wasn't a secret.  So, it's not that we are afraid of speaking the truth.....the problem is people that don't like the truth spoken takes the position to wipe it off! If you want to rehash this subject....Let's go! I'll even let you have the first punch.  But I doubt we will get far before being wiped off again." Another poster wrote in part that the moderator must not have liked that  they were "using that premature heroin addicted baby as a punching bag."

These aninmals were enjoying it.

Attacking an innocent child and her  mother. You would think these folks would have found the time months ago to share some of their "moral wisdom" with the LAX team about sobriety, and the folly of hiring human flesh to debase itself for their perverted entertainment. Obviously, it only leads to trouble.

Yes, maybe it would be best to ignore these unfortunate people. But to do so would be to overlook how, in the quest for what they call 'justice', these evil vipers that would even viciously attack a  newborn baby just because of who her mother and family are, do their cause tremendous harm.

Whatever moral authority that is claimed by those  who honestly believe the three defendants are innocent, is severely and sadly undermined by those who, from the very beginning of this case, have used it to hide behind to spew their dirty racism.

And now they attack a baby girl who has done nothing to anyone.

Those who would like to send best wishes to Our Sister Survivor on the birth of her baby girl via this website, please do so. As always, we will post those that are appropriate.

Those who still want to send messages of support to the accuser are still welcomed to do so. As we've said before, the criminal justice system will be the final determiner of what the truth is, particularly with the remaining two charges.

From the day this website was launched, through the dropping of the rape charges, and onto the critical Feb. 5 hearing in Durham Superior Court where a judge will determine the validity of the accuser's identification of the three defendants, we have stood for her right to tell her story under oath in a court of law without racist castigation, so that a judge and/or jury can decide once and for all.

We are getting closer to that time. And we wait, as many of you, for the whole story to be told.

In the meantime, we  pray that GOD blesses the new mother, her baby girl, and her family, and hope that this year will be a  turning point in righting the wrongs in her life, and moving forward in truth.

Jan. 6, 2007 - TRUTH AND JUSTICE WILL STILL PREVAIL

Dear Sister Survivor:
Just because the rape charges have been dropped doesn't mean a rape didn't occur. I recently read an article about a woman who didn't know she had been raped, until she saw herself on a video recorded by her attacker. The "date rape" drug was used.

The two remaining charges are still very serious. I just hope and pray truth and justice will prevail, because something happened in that house . No one is going to leave their personal belongings behind especially money in a stranger's house.

Jan. 6, 2007 - I BELIEVE YOU 100%

I'm still following your case and supporting you. I'm convinced that you were drugged by them and sexually assaulted in that house.

Hang in there honey and go get them.

Dec. 22, 2006 - DUKE LACROSSE RAPE CHARGES DROPPED

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR:

As of today, first-degree forcible rape charges in the Duke lacrosse alleged rape case have been dropped by the Durham District Attorney's Office.

D.A. Mike Nifong has indicated that a lack of evidence, beyond the accuser's latest admission that she cannot testify "with certainty" about her claim of rape, forced him to move to dismiss those charges against the three Duke lacrosse players indicted.

Nifong has indicated, however, that he will pursue the remaining first-degree kidnapping and first degree sexual offense charges in this case against the defendants.

Pending what happens with those charges, and ultimately this case, a decision will be made as to the future of this website. The previous messages that have been posted will remain for now.

A decision will be made about posting new messages -minus any references to an alleged rape - in the future.

Thank you.

The Book of Psalms Chapter 46

1. GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
