From the Publisher - Taking a break from my TV Talk Show

Greetings:

 

I have received several emails and phone calls asking what is going on because they had not received anything from me lately.

 

I am taking a break from my TV Talk Show until further notice and I will be sending out limited mailings via Dancy Communications Network because I am going to take some time for myself and catch up on my personal life. I have been busy doing what I love to do best and that is informing and educating folks about what is going on around them politically.

 

I track forums on the internet to see what they are saying about our real black leaders and other issues. I also listen and call in to several weekly radio talk shows talking about issues that affect us.

 

I must take some time to get my personal things in order since I do all that I do out of pocket. I went to Williamsburg Virginia over the Memorial Weekend Holiday through a time share offer and if my wife had not won the trip, we probably would never had gone. It was good for the family and I because I have been so caught up in my blog and my TV show since September of last year. As we were about to leave around 4 PM on that Saturday my dad asked me was the inspection sticker up to date because my wife and I had been keeping his car. It was past due. I had to rush to Rocky Mount to get it done so we could get on the road. When I pulled out the registration card, I noticed that the license tag had expired also. Mind you the license tag office is closed on Saturday. But we spent the weekend in Virginia and had no problems.

 

While we were in Virginia there were no internet access in the resort where we stayed however I could have gone to the clubhouse to check my emails and to read the local newspapers to see what was going on back at home. It was a relaxing time something I need more of. So since Memorial Weekend I have been dealing with my next step as it relates to advocacy and I have come to the conclusion that now is the time to take a break.

 

It has been real tough lately with the price of gas like it is and I have to put gas in 3 cars since I am the only one working. So therefore the cash I have been spending doing advocacy work is at an all time low so I must eliminate some of the things that I do. I must have the necessities like the air condition unit I had to go out and buy on yesterday.

 

My son is nearly 10 years old and I am going to spend more time with him and the things he likes to do since we have been doing them on a limited basis. My dad has about 40 acreas of soy beans and I usually plant them during the Memorial Weekend however he did them this year since I was out of town. I will attempt to ply them if I can keep him off the tractor but he will ply during the day while I am at work so I will get on the tractor around 4:30 PM.

 

I will be sending out limited mailings however I will make everyone aware of if and when I start the TV Show up again. I spoke with the manager at the TV Station today and he said to just let him know when I am ready to pick back up where I left off.

 

Thanks to all of my faithful readers and especially those who have made a contribution to The DCN. But it is all good because I really like paying my own way but that is tough when I have myself and 3 others to support.

 

Be blessed and look for limited mailings from The DCN until further notice.

 

So know that I am gone but not away as of yet.

Alonzo Braggs President Wilson NAACP shared with the viewers how the Wilson Branch NAACP is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. MLK with a voters registration and a ceremony on Friday April 11. Candidates for Register of Deeds were invited to appear. Alvis (Butch) Armstrong only candidate to show up. Last segment was setting the record straight about what is going on with people and issues in the local area/Politics local, state and national.

Have your heard? There is a new show in town and information is being shared that some folks may not have heard before. There will be some who will not want to know the truth however they have options and I will let them figure out what they need to do. (Hint: Remote Control.) The purpose of the show is to inform the black community and others about what is really going on around them and who the real leaders are in my opinion.

Politicians, community leaders and others who are working against the best interest of black folks, "either you tell it or I am gonna tell it." I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of folks working against us especially several black folks in our community. Sometimes we can be our worst enemies. Although I have been telling it for years, I am now warning you to go ahead and tell it because there is still some more for me tell and your name may not have been called yet. This is your last warning so you better start talking or writing because The Political Agitator is going to tell it.
