$6/students and children under 12

Thornton Wilder presents a picture of a small town – a town that suffers social injustice and prejudice, triumphs and traditions. The town is not idealized nor criticized; the play follows the day to day activities of many of the inhabitants because, in the end, it is a celebration of humanity—what we can accomplish and what we can overcome.  Our Town has been presented by the Community Theatre twice before. We celebrate our 50th Anniversary and our home at the Imperial Theatre with a new production of an old favorite.

39th Annual Christmas Chorus

Performances December 6 & 7 at 8:00 pm; December 9 at 2:00 pm

All seats $5/general admission

More than fifty voices join in song to celebrate the holiday season. Welcome the holidays and celebrate the tradition of Rocky Mount’s Christmas Chorus as they sing religious, secular, and traditional music of the holiday season.

D&D Initiative

If you have you ever wanted to try your hand at directing or designing a production, your chance is now!  The D&D Initiative (that’s short for Directors and Designers) gives volunteers an opportunity to take on leadership roles as a director or designer for various productions in the Community Theatre season. As a director, you help shape a production, schedule and lead rehearsals, and work with staff members in the process of production design.  Designers may choose to work in the areas of costume, set, or lighting design, and will have an opportunity to create the visual and conceptual world of a production. All volunteers taking part in the initiative are mentored and supported by members of the theatre staff.  Interested parties are encouraged to contact Maureen Daly, Cultural Arts Administrator, at 972-1441 to discuss opportunities.
