Friends,
I am emailing you because I am hoping that you will be willing to share the information attached with your contacts. This s a great opportunity for you OR any nonprofit you know – to attend a training offered by the DC-based Alliance for Justice on Nonprofits and Election Law – what nonprofits can/can’t do (c3s and c4’s) in elections.  Blueprint NC is making this available to you and the broader nonprofit community. We are also hosting a luncheon for Pastors, church leaders and Laymen in communities of faith to answer questions and discuss issues specific to communities of faith. You must RSVP for lunch.

There are lots of ways that churches and nonprofits can support civic/voter engagement. We just have to know the rules and regulations. With the election fast approaching we need to be fully informed. We are hoping to provide an opportunity for folks to learn more about what is and is not legally permissible for 501 c3 organizations.

A flyer is attached and pasted below.

During this two hour workshop for nonprofit managers, staff, and volunteers, our attorney-trainer will teach you the rules so that you can answer questions such as:

► Are there restrictions on candidate forums?
► Are there limits on how we register or reach new voters?
► What types of election-related activity can our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) engage in?
If you are leader or volunteer with a church or other faith institution (or someone who works with churches), we invite you to stay and further discuss election-related activity with church-specific scenarios.  Lunch provided at no cost, if you register in advance.
