Former Rocky Mount Mayor Fred Turnage, a member of the ElectriCities board, said the board felt that it was not the best time to increase Tilton’s salary.
“I think the sensitivity to having to deal with rate increases and so forth (was a factor in the decision),” Turnage said. (Rocky Mount Telegram)
