Elizabeth City officials are bracing for another possible rate hike from the city’s electricity supplier — the third in three years.
City Manager Rich Olson said last week that when the N.C. Eastern Municipal Power Agency met earlier this month, no specific rate hike proposal was discussed. However, a review of cost projections and NCEMPA’s “working capital” for the coming year was sobering, he said. (Daily Advance)
