Well I be damn. People have apologized in some cases and resigned so what is your point? My point is you say that is enough and it is time for his criticis to let the incident pass. Oh hell no.
Some things should be (0) zero tolerance. It is a damn shame that someone in this type of authorative position would make such a comment. But hell we all know what kind of county we are dealing with and that is one of if not the racist county in the State of NC.
I had mentioned to someone last week that was funny as hell how folks who have partnered together calling for his resignation are namely outsiders (organizations) however I am quite sure some folks live there who are a part of the organizations. I was looking at NC Spin last night which was a make up of all whites and the majority of them said that they felt the Sheriff should resign. Chris Fitszimon of NC Policy Watch said that he would love to see the folks in Johnston County protesting asking that the Sheriff be removed since the partners is from the outside.
It is a damn shame that the local NAACP and the black church are not leading the way.
I can't wait to see how this unfold.
Cookie Pope, chairwoman of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners, issued a statement Monday on behalf of the board, saying that commissioners supported Bizzell's "successful efforts to protect the citizens of Johnston County against crimes."
Pope noted in the statement that Bizzell had apologized, and she called on his critics to let the incident pass. (WRAL)
