Raleigh NC - ElectriCities: See who went to Washington to Help Low-Income Families

Reading the PR from Jesse Tilton you would not know who went. I bet if they had been white he would have mentioned them.
For those who had a problem and expressed their comments with this article "Leaders seek aid for utility bills" talking about Rocky Mount City Councilmembers Rev. Andre Knight and Rev. Reuben Blackwell going to Washington DC saying they were sucking up to Jesse Tilton, do you see their names mentioned in this Press Release "NC Public Power Officials Converge on Washington to Help Low-Income Families" on the ElectriCities website? Knight and Blackwell went to Washington DC to do what they do 7 days a week and that is to advocate for the people of Rocky Mount but not limited to. I know these brothers personally and I know that they do not kiss up to the white man nor the black man.
It is time for folks to look at who the real leaders are and support them and as it relates to ElectriCities it is Knight, Blackwell and Rick Dew Jr. who have spoken out publicly. Now I know there are some who are doing things in the background and that is fine. That is where I like to work.
How can you help these guys?
1. Call and/or write them and tell them how much you appreciate what they are doing and also if you disagree with them.
2. Write letters to the editor supporting them.
3. Show up at city council meetings and/or NC Power Agency Meetings and ElectriCities Board Meetings to voice your opinion (optional) or to let them know you are there with them.
Folks stay focus and go after the real enemy and the real enemy is the ElectriCities Board who need some major, major changes to take place. It is time for the good ole boys to understand enough is enough and if they do not want to do the right thing then they need to get the hell out of the way.
