First of all I want to apologize for not knowing that it is a policy that the board members spouse can eat on the tab of the city. Again this was in place before this current council I would believe.
I agree with the Mayor on this issue and as he says he do not make a living by serving on the council. Again this is where folks don't understand how politics work.
I commend this council because this council has done more as a whole for all the citizens in RM than previous councils.
“The single largest investment the city has is in our utilities,” Combs said. “I feel like every council member needs to be at these meetings in order to hear what is being said, to be educated about utilities in general and find out what is happening out there across the country.”
He said the council would be doing the constituents a disservice simply by sending a couple of members to the meeting. (Rocky Mount Telegram)

Being as this so called city council has been in place for close to four years, they have had sufficient time to rescind the policy of allowing spouses to free load at city taxpayer's expense.
(Recind it for what? I don't see a damn thing wrong with it since it is a policy. And it has not been an issue before now and as far as I am concerned it is still not an issue.) TPA
Also could you possibly list all the accomplishments this self proclaimed city council has done that makes it so much better than previous councils ?

It comtinues to funnel money down a rat hole for"downtown renovation" which is a hopeless case. It continues to fund money for the douglas block renovation which looks jaust as it did twenty years ago---a hangout for black winos and crackheads.
(Make sure you come back here when downtown has been revitalized. As it relates to winos and crackheads they are on many corners and you are probably one. Hell I can't say it because you are hiding behind a code name.) TPA
dancy, the ONLY reason you continue to sing the praises of this city council is because they are a black majority. Had this exact council been predominately white you would be attacking them daily.
(Praising them because they are doing a great job. I have followed them over the years and I see a change. You damn right they are a black majority and making sure monies go all over the city when the white majority did not do so.
I challenge black and white folks so how ignant. I am harder on black folks than I am white folks because the majority of the black folks on these boards and councils are safe Negroes. That is not the case with Blackwell and Knight.) TPA
