There is NO accountability with ElectriCities. None what so ever. Is it really going to take the Citizens to do a Class Action of this crap to get straight? Or are they going to start listening to the citizens? I was told by Fred Turnage that it was way more complicated than I thought. Okay, I said, then splain it to me, I have the time. DO you think he did? NO, he didn't have a clue himself. At this meeting on the 17th. Is there going to be a time for Public input? It is not so complicated that we don't get his $1000 a month and a budget on an agenda that warranted 10 minutes of discussion. Apparently HE does not get it. I am furious over Fred Turnage being wrapped in this corruption. What do we do? How do we ensure public input at the PUBLIC meeting on the 17th? Who will ensure we can speak?

You are correct no accountability to a certain degree. They don't have to worry about being held accountable to a certain degree because some folks are blaming the city councils and the majority of the folks on the city councils today have no clue of what they inherited. Instead of the people supporting the councils they are blaming them for the problem. What people don't understand is the councilmembers have to pay their utilities also. The councilmembers are not collecting the $1000 a month that the former Mayor of Rocky Mount Fred Turnage who served for 30 plus years have received all these years.
Ricardo Dew Wilson County citizen who challenged Mayor Bruce Rose in the last election has been holding ElectriCities accountable. Andre Knight Rocky Mount City Council and serve on the NC Power Agency Commission has been holding ElectriCities accountable. Reuben Blackwell Rocky Mount City Council attended the last meeting NCPC meeting in Wilson and spoke out. Knight and Blackwell traveled to Washington DC on this past Tuesday to address the issue of ElectriCities of North Carolina. There are some others however when the citizens come together and support those who are holding ElectriCities accountable then we will see a change.
The former mayor do not have to explain anything because his strong supporters over the years are in denial and it has not sunk in that he has betrayed them. They can't say they didn't have an option because Rocky Mount City Councilman Reuben Blackwell ran against him 2 terms ago. To put the icing on the damn cake during the time Blackwell challenged Turnage, a black minister Rev. Dr. Thomas L. Walker came to a NAACP meeting and told the members that it was not time for a black mayor. My point is when we allow ignance to run rapid in our communities this is what we get.
Turnage gets it. He feel he does not have to answer to you because you are just one person. My question to you is now do you get it, the reason why he wanted to stay on as mayor all of these years and the next question is, what did he do as mayor? I guess I better shut the hell up because no one has given me permission to say what I am saying. LOL
Corruption? Just think about how certain folks in Rocky Mount (white men) targetted Andre Knight because now it is clear to me, that the good ole boys knew that with Knight on this council things will come out. Jerry Fisher and Mark Bowling had a local live TV talk show on WHIG TV Herb Grenberg President and Sandra Smith General Manager whereby they allowed them to attack Knight every damn week until Bowling went to jail for the murder of his wife and Jerry is no longer on tv nor do he work for the current mayor David Combs who owns Combs Century 21 Realty. The good ole boys couldn't bring Knight down so they had to get a known criminal a safe Negro Rev. Roosevelt Higgs to go after Knight. I don't want to leave out others who were involved such as Kenneth Pledger Nash County resident former supporter of Turnage who sent information to Terry Smith Tarboro Daily Southerner Editor about Knight's mortgage payments for a piece of property where the good ole boys wanted to call his primary residence to Gayle Hudson Board of Elections Director Edgecombe County who resigned her post during the residency issue. I know for a fact that Knight have never lived there.
As it relates to addressing the ElectriCities board on September 17, I don't know how their agenda works. I do know that it is up to a board to allow public comments. I will research to see if comments are allowed.

I understand what you are saying about what happened with Knight and Blackwell but people want to see them stand up to Jesse Tilton, Fred Turnage, Sam Noble, Bruce Rose and demand there be cuts at ElectriCities, there be salary cuts. The place has run amuck and we will stand by these men and others who demand changes. They look like they are being suckered into believing Tilton. We will stand with them but they need to be with the community who sees that there could be millions of cuts to the ElectriCities and a lot of salary reduction and a change in management. Joining the corrupt good ole boys is not the answer. So I hope they will stand firm for CHANGE and we will stand with them.Note: What are you talking about when you say it looks like they are being suckered into believing Tilton? Tilton will do anything to get them off his back. He will wine and dine them, take them on trips, mislead them about the budget, mislead them about what will work. He WILL LIE ABOUT ANYTHING HE CAN. He sits in his office having strategy meetings all day about them. He LIES TO THE BOARD ALL THE TIME. He is organizing that now. New programs from ELECTRICITIES cost big cause of all the overspending. They need to ask for a line item budget and see if the letter from Daryl Barber in Wilson makes sense - it does. TILTON IS trying to lie his way out. We want to stay focused on changing management and making cuts. we hear Tilton is on an all front effort to con these guys so he can secure Fred Turnage support. Fred Turnage loves Tilton and all the spending cause he benefits so he will not get rid of Tilton unless he is being pressured at home. If Tilton can try to give council members something he can keep ole Turnage in his camp.Posted by Anonymous
