Rocky Mount NC - Guess who signed the Articles of Incorporation for ElectriCities?

Today Monday, August 18, 2008 after tuning in to the weekly talk show Express Yourself 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM on the Radio FM 92.1 where the discussion was about teachers having sex with students, I tuned in to the weekly talk show America in Danger on WHIG TV 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM whereby their topic every week is normally about government handouts. I call in weekly to the radio show however I have not called in to the tv show. But at the end of the tv show Robert said, "guess who signed the Articles of Incorporation for ElectriCities?" Chris said, "mayor Turnage." Robert said that is right. Oh well.

So my question to Kenneth Pledger and the others who continue to mislead folks as if the current council is the creator of all the problems that the Rocky Mount City Council faces, why are you not questioning the former Mayor Fred Turnage and the other good ole boys who make up the board? I have stated over and over again that the current council black and white has done more for the people as a whole across the city than the previous councils. Ken you say Rocky Mount can get out of ElectriCities so why don't you ask the former mayor the procedure to do such?

What pisses me the hell off is that some folks have tried to make it seem as if the black council members are trying to cater to the East side of Rocky Mount. Well hell the East side has been left out all of these years. But the black council and the current council are following what is in the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Rocky Mount that was put in place before these folks were elected to the council. It is not fair to the black nor the white council members.

It tickles the hell out of me how the same racist white folks who was trying to undo the black majority council are suffering from high utilities and other but have spent the past 4 - 6 (since Andre Knight has been on the council) trying to unseat him while the damn utilities and other has gotten out of hand. You see what tickles the hell out of me is that we found out about the millions of dollars of debt with ElectriCities. When I say we I am referring to Carol Batchelor, Lewis Turner, Andre and myself along with a few others who had a meeting at Truth Tabernacle before the flood and long before Andre was elected to the council, so therefore I am talking about around 10 years ago.

Folks it is time to get to the root of the problem and stop misleading folks putting the blame where it does not belong when it comes to ElectriCities and other issues. It is time to call a spade a spade. That means when race is a factor let's talk about it and get through it because without dialogue nothing will change.

Good stuff, sir. I don't know how you keep your cool in the face of bulloney like this ... but bless you for doin' the agitatin'!

Note: It is tough sir simply because I dedicated my life back in the early 90's to trying to educate folks about what is going on around them. I have always tried to be on the side of right no matter who it was for or against. But because I talk to certain folks (and I hold them accountable also) I have been called a racist, militant and other choice words. But it does not matter because I have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies only permanent interest.

Everyone black, brown, white and other who knows me personally know where my heart is although because I am firm when it comes to politics they can't take it sometimes. I do my homework and that is why I stand firm. Am I always right, hell no but I have no problem with apologizing, going back correcting my wrong and etc.

It is hard to keep my cool. Why? Because I have invested numerous hours, money and time away from my family trying to educate ungreatful Negroes however I recognize that all folks black, brown and white benefit from what I do. This whole thing is a bunch of damn junk. ElectriCities has so many deep dark secrets that Turnage and the others withheld -- like their big fat paychecks. We have been paying for their parties and expensive trips. They are made they have been busted because of this big rate increase. No ethics. No truth Keep at em Curmilus. You are doing good.

These ole boys at ElectriCities have been handpicking city council people and board members. They did not want the folks on the Rocky Mount City Council because they were scared this would happen. We found out the truth. Debt, bad refinancing, bad advice, bloated salaries. We need this place investigated to see what all has been spent.

Note: You are right on target. If the right people get in the right places the truth will be made known. This is why we need to replace current elected officials in other areas of government. I support the whole Rocky Mount City Council however do I always agree with them? Nope? Hell I don't always agree with my wife. But I hold the council accountable and I feel that because others and myself hold them accountable, they are moving forward. But ElectriCities and other things that were put in place by the previous council are stumbling blocks for them. So as long as they keep the faith this too will pass. C. Dancy II - Editor

you got it. accountability. the electricities have not had to be accountable to anyone but themselves and paying each other, patting each other on the back, doing favors for each other. the place has been closed, not open. look at rick dew in wilson getting the real lobbyist totals. they were spinning that into a different number. we need to support the people on the Rocky Mount Council who are standing up, asking questions.
