These numbers are even more bogus than the ones on lobbying. Here is some information from within the confines of the corrupt organization known as ElectriCities where greed perpetuates every thought, even the simplest thought such as what to have to eat for a meeting and gee, how much of it can I take home with me or how many vodka tonics, brandys and scotches can I safely put on my expense report before it “looks bad.” And my favorite, when do I call the attorneys and ask them to pay for something so it shows up “offline” or ask a not-so-well-known staff person to pay it so it is hidden from view. Perhaps, even, how can I buy something for myself and disguise it as “for ElectriCities.” Such is a day at ElectriCities of NC
Here is how ElectriCities looked at the early comments about all the corruption and mismanagement here –
“ElectriCities is aware of and highly concerned about attacks that recently have been circulated to selected people by a person or group of persons unknown to ElectriCities purporting to be concerned taxpayers.” Ha. Purported taxpayers. Did you hear that folks? I guess none of you pay your taxes.
“The material circulated contains numerous inflammatory and derogatory statements, unfounded personal attacks against members of ElectriCities’ staff and its Board of Directors and is replete with misrepresentations of fact, innuendos of impropriety and false statements. The circulated material also contains numerous unsupported opinions of the author and is devoid of any evidence supporting the assertions.” Ha Ha. Guess you all proved them wrong on this count too.
“ElectriCities is a governmental organization whose records and operations are a matter of public record and always open for inspection, and its business and affairs are managed by a highly engaged Board of Directors.” Triple ha. Sam Noble admitted that spending has not been carefully scrutinized.
“The content of the materials being circulated and the unwillingness of the author to identify himself or herself raise serious concerns about the motives of the person or group of persons behind the distributions.” Even funnier. I think when concerned people are trying to expose corruption, mismanagement, overspending, you have to not identify yourself for a while because we all know what will happen if you will … we have all been threatened here.
“ElectriCities will continue to conduct its affairs with the transparency with which it has always operated and will continue to review and make improvements to its operations in an effort to be the most effective organization it can be for the benefit of its members.” Now, stand up if you believe there has been transparency. I think we all know it is the truth and it is affecting how “business” is being conducted for the better.
Just wanted you all to know how the comments are spun internally. Denial. Denial.
