Terry Smith Mr. Editor I am trying to figure how you say the Tarboro Council acted responsibly when you say, "In anticipation of the rate hike, Tarboro Town Council last week unanimously approved a 13.2 percent hike in the town's electric rates, effective Aug. 1." You say, "The ElectriCities Board of Directors meets Friday and is expected to approve the increase."
Mr. Editor how in the hell can the board vote on an increase when they do not know how much the increase will be? Oh maybe they do because the Tarboro Council Mayor Sam Noble is the chair of ElectriCities. So what is going to happen if the increase is lower or higher? Will the Tarboro Council vote again to lower or increase the hike in the town's electric rates? Interesting, I can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - Terry Smith Duped by Sam Noble
Terry Smith is either dumb or cannot read. His blurb today is too dumb to acknowledge but just in case ... Does he not understand a DEMOCRACY. The bigger, better Rocky Mount paper and today, the WILSON paper get it. The ISSUE is, Mr. Smith, you do not VOTE ON AN INCREASE until it has been referred to you to VOTE ON. It is supposed to go to rate committee, board, ncempa and THEN the cities. Hertford understood that, Elizabeth City understood that, Rocky Mount understood that. Sam NOBLE should not bypass the system ASSUMING it will pass as is. HE has done nothing to find solutions, make cuts or take a stand on an incompetent CEO. His council members should UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS AND WAIT and NOT ASSUME MR NOBLE IS ALL KNOWING. They need to do their jobs. Mr. SMITH - do some reasearch and get off the Sam happy wagon. It is boring.Posted by Anonymous

The Manager controls the Council which is wrong. Apparently the manager is Jesse Tilton's big sidekick and endorses his pay, incompetence, lack of leadership and big raises he gives people like Clay Norris. That is unfortunate because when Tilton falls, Sam Noble may too.Posted by Anonymous
