Definition of ignant is one who knows better but for some reason chooses to act and/or speak in the negative about a real issue or person.
Example: A politician, community leader, minister and others who want to destroy another person by saying stupid manure and/or doing whatever they can to block change. These persons are not serving the people but are pimping them instead.
The word can relate to black, brown, white and other folks.
Yep I know that the real word is ignorant however I like ignant.
The above is my definition of ignant.

"Knowledge is Power, Sharing it is Empowerment"
"We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth ... For my part, I am willing to know the whole truth: to know the worst; and provide for it." Patrick Henry
"Speaking Truth to Power"
"I swore never to be silent whenever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." - Elie Weisel
There are so many folks who are afraid to talk about "RACE Relations" so some of the information here may not be what you want to read however you have options and I will let you figure out what they are. I don't make the news, I just report it. I don't make up rumors, I just share them. I don't discriminate when it comes to holding black, brown, white and other folks accountable for their actions. I have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies only permanent interest in what is going on around me. I also ask that others hold me accountable for my actions.
This site is geared to promoting black and brown folks because all black and brown people are not on drugs, in jail, unemployed nor on welfare. The majority of us are intelligent, hard working, God-fearing and productive citizens. Those of us who are not caught up in the system were all of this and then some long before the first black President Barack Obama became our 44th President of these United States so don't get it twisted. So in other words do not think that "Race Relations" is no longer needed because in my opinion we need it more today than ever before. There are many folks who are not of color who do not want to accept our new President. This means that our generation will have to pick up from where the generations before us left off.
I challenge all black and brown individuals, elected officials, churches, sororities, fraternities and other organizations to get involved in making a difference in our communities.
Thank you for visiting me on the web and now tell your family and friends to visit also.

Please forward to those interested in uplifting the involvement and voice of Black people at the state, local and national levels.
NC Black Leadership Caucus - March 21st Mtg
Elections update
The last twelve months have been historical, uplifting and a signal of change to come. As our new President has stated frequently, change begins with each of us and we need your help. On Saturday, March 21st, 2009, the NC Black Leadership Caucus will have its monthly third Saturday meeting. These meetings are an opportunity for Black North Carolinians of all backgrounds to come together to share their concerns for present and future prosperity and to impact change through targeted action. In 2009, the NCBLC seeks to rebuild the membership and input within the thirteen congressional districts for maximum support on issues that affect each of us and it takes all of us to make this happen. Please join us!
Details are below:
When: Sat, March 21, 2009
Where: Office of Brad Thompson & Associates
132 E. Morgan St, Downtown Raleigh NC
(next to First Baptist Church)
Time: 11am
(Scroll down for more info on upcoming officer elections in April).
History:
The North Carolina Black Leadership Caucus was organized in October 1976 to consolidate the civil rights and voting rights gains of the past into a new and different thrust for Black political and social influence. Since that time, the goal of the Caucus has been to seek full equity for all Black North Carolinians.
Membership & Upcoming Elections:
The strength of the Caucus comes from its core – the membership. During the historic Obama campaign and volunteer turnout, attendance at meetings dropped while everyone worked to initiate change. Because of the busy season, the fall 2008 elections were postponed and will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2009 at the Office of Brad Thompson & Associates. Voting will begin promptly at 11:30am.
After much discussion at the recent February meeting, members in attendance moved to suspend the rules (controlling bylaws) pertaining to voting eligibility at the upcoming elections to allow for the greatest input from NCBLC members. Therefore, all lifetime members and any annual member that was current on dues as of Dec. 31, 2008 are eligible to vote in the April election for officers. New members will be eligible to vote in the September 2010 election of officers and on agenda items throughout the year. New members are also eligible to volunteer on issue committees, special events and to chair such committees and events. (Bylaws are attached).
Election Offices:
· Chairperson
· Vice Chairperson
· Secretary
· Treasurer
· Parliamentarian
· Membership Chair
· Three Regional Vice Chairs (Eastern, Piedmont, Western)
Annual Membership: $15
Lifetime Membership: $150
Membership Form available at www.ncblackleadershipcaucus.com
Nominations for Upcoming Elections/Candidates:
The nominating committee for upcoming elections is appointed by the NCBLC Chair. See pg. 17 of Bylaws for official duties of the nominating committee. If you would like to be appointed, please call Carnell Robinson by Monday, March 9th at 8pm at 910-574-3503. The official nominating committee roster will be publicized via email and official NCBLC website by Thursday, March 12th and anyone seeking to run in the April elections is asked to attend our March meeting, contact a member of the nominating committee, or the current NCBLC chair.
Structure:
The concept of the NCBLC is structured throughout thirteen congressional districts and one hundred counties within North Carolina, the Caucus membership includes concerned citizens and community residents, progressive organizational leaders, public officials, community activists, clergy and working men and women from all qualities of life who are concerned about the survival of Black people and have joined forces to fight systemic oppression in all forms and at all levels.
Notes from the February meeting will be emailed no less than two days prior to the meeting. Please contact an executive committee member is you have questions.

The date was April 29, 2008.
When then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama met exclusively with The Carolinian, The Wilmington Journal and other member publications of the NC Black Publishers Association one week before the crucial May 6 North Carolina primary, he put several campaign promises on the table that he vowed if elected, he would carry out. This is true with some of our local elected officials and community leaders who are actually making things happen on the local level.
In Rocky Mount NC there are some black ministers and others in the community who have a problem with Rocky Mount Councilman Andre Knight. There are some black ministers and others across the State of North Carolina who have a problem with the NC NAACP State Conference of Branches President Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II and newly elected National NAACP Board Member. These are just 2 of several black men who have no problem with speaking truth to power and instead of the ministers and others supporting them, they are jealous as hell. C. Dancy II - Editor/TPA
In the aftermath of President Barack Obama’s historic address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night, the reaction to his call for American courage in the face of economic uncertainty has been widely hailed.
''Tonight, President Obama set forth a powerful vision for our country and an agenda for change that deserves the support of all Americans,” said Sen. Edward Kennedy (D- Mass). (Wilmington Journal)

The Rev. Kim Brown believes the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is still needed in the Pasquotank County area, and he has good reason to believe so — from his own personal experience.
“My son and I went to a restaurant, and because I’m new to the area, I didn’t know that people of color don’t frequent this restaurant,” he said.
Brown said he and his son waited and saw four other tables served who had come in after them. (Daily Advance)

Dear Friend,
InternetforEveryone.org just traveled down North Carolina’s "digital dirt road" to hear from people struggling without a fast Internet connection. People told us firsthand stories about the real challenges that North Carolinians face living "off the grid."
You can watch their video stories by following this link:
Watch Five Days on the Digital Dirt Road
This multimedia report is just the start of an important week in North Carolina. The report's video profiles will be featured at this Saturday's InternetforEveryone.org town hall meeting in Durham, N.C.
Please join me and other motivated citizens as we shape a plan for getting everyone in North Carolina and across the country connected to high-speed Internet:
WHAT: InternetforEveryone.org town hall meeting
in North Carolina
WHEN: Saturday, March 7, 2009, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Durham Marriott Convention Center
201 Foster Street
Durham, N.C.
RSVP: Reserve Your Place
(Only 250 seats are available. RSVP now.)
High-speed Internet is more than a luxury; it’s a necessity for participation in our 21st-century economy and democracy. Yet in North Carolina alone, nearly 50 percent of homes are without a high-speed connection.
President Barack Obama has made universal Internet access a priority for his new administration. We’re holding this meeting, along with others across America, to show him and other leaders in Washington how to get the job done right.
Your voice is vital to this national conversation about our digital future. Please join us on Saturday, and speak up about what changes are needed to improve the Internet in America.
Reserve Your Seat Now!
I look forward to seeing you there,
Misty Perez
Campaign Coordinator
