Yes I did. I sat here quilting and listened to Mitch Johnson and Linda Miles attempt to pour manure all over Jerry Bledsoe. Pounding my head against a stone wall would have been more enjoyable. Thank Goodness I was quilting because I do love to quilt.The one most egregious claim which Mitch Johnson even began the interview with, and reiterated thru out the interview was that he did not interfere with the running of any of the departments. He did not tell his department heads what to do. He never interfered with hiring and firing or decisions that the department heads have made if they truly believe they have made the right decision. I wish I had a dollar for every time he made that statement.
This of course explains why Mitch Johnson, City Manager took it upon himself to rescind Police Chief David Wray's decision to fire a police officer (Stacy Morton) who slugged a handcuffed prisoner. I am of course referring to the very first thing Johnson did to undermine Wray's authority and send the signal that the dirty cops were still in charge of the GPD. This of course was only the first action that we know of where Mitch Johnson did indeed interfere with the police department.
Johnson also explained that he felt qualified to make decisions for the police department because he had work "extensively" with the police. Makes me wonder if when he has an operation he would agree that the operating room nurse can perform the actual surgery since she has worked extensively with the surgeon. And, I am sure if Bellamy were to be asked and be willing to answer honestly he would dispute the accuracy of Mitch's assertion as he is probably getting more interference than even David Wray got.
To see thru the lying done on this tape put on the YES!WEEKLY site in order to justify Jordan Green's attack on The Rhino and Jerry Bledsoe we really don't even have to have read one of the 47 segments of "Cops in Black and White.". No, even the biased accounts in the News & Record would give you all the information you would need to refute Mitch and Linda and their explanations and excuses in this interview. BB
Oh, and another thing: I finally figured out YES!WEEKLY's motive. If your paper is in the toilet and no one is picking it up even tho it is free then how do you get the public's attention? You attack the big newspaper in the county even if you need to fabricate a story out of whole cloth and break every journalistic rule in the book. And the BIG GUY is THE RHINO! BB
