“Do Tell: The Youngest Member of Congress, Rep. Patrick McHenry"

"In this installment of "Do Tell," we profile Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), the Jack Russell Terrier of the House Republican Conference. As feisty as he is small (he's 5 feet 3 inches or something; he doesn't measure), McHenry is one of his party's chief attack dogs on the House floor, generally raising hell and employing whatever parliamentary tactic he can to obstruct the Democratic majority's legislation.”

The above is the first paragraph of today’s The Sleuth featuring North Carolina’s Rep. Patrick McHenry, and there is also a video. If you don’t know of, and haven’t been following, the antics of North Carolina’s “Little Giant” Representative Patrick McHenry in Congress you really should start. He is a dynamo in action and has the Democrats representatives gnashing their teeth when he takes the floor. The Speaker does his best to ignore him but McHenry is persistent and eventually gets his say. He has taken on the Democrats toughest debater, Barney Frank and held his own admirably.

Rep. McHenry enjoys his roll as his party's 'spoiler" but that doesn't make him a party hack.  He has his own mind and follows his own dictates when voting often against the party lines.  Makes you proud to watch this man and know he is a North Carolinian and perhaps the beginning of a new breed of politician in  Washington.   We can only hope! BB
